After researching about Van Gogh’s creative process, and learning about his step-by-step process in mastering each element, I decided I wanted to do the same with my constant outputs. So, for this week, I tried to master only the face of the chibi, and the shape of the face. Some of the faces I drew were sharper than others, although most chibi’s have rounder, chubbier faces, I wanted to try sharper jawlines and chins as if they were normal anime faces. I wanted to try out the different shapes to see which type of face I prefer on my own chibi’s. I also tried drawing different ears for the shaper faces to keep it consistent. Along with focusing on the overall shape of the face, I also played around with the facial expressions. After drawing these sketches, I realized that I don’t really have a preference with the overall shapes of the faces. I think I prefer changing the shapes depending on the facial expressions of the character.
